Baseball Betting Lines

08/08/2010 - Philadelphia, PA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Raul Ibanez clubbed a three-run home run to help the Philadelphia Phillies take a 6-5 win over the New York Mets in the finale of a three-game series.

Jayson Werth went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored, while Brian Schneider and Ross Gload each drove in a run for the Phillies, who have won six of their last seven. Roy Halladay (14-8) lasted seven innings and was charged with five runs on nine hits with a walk and 10 strikeouts.

Angel Pagan drove in two runs, while Jose Reyes scored twice for the Mets, who have dropped five of their last seven. R.A. Dickey (7-5) was touched for six runs -- four earned -- on eight hits with a walk in three innings of action.

The Mets jumped on Halladay in the first as Reyes doubled to start the frame and came home when Pagan followed with a single. Pagan then stole second and third and a two-out single from Ike Davis made it a 2-0 game.

Philly got a run back in the second on Werth's solo shot to dead center.

The Phillies then went ahead in the third with a five-run frame. With one out, Jimmy Rollins doubled and Placido Polanco reached base on a Reyes error. Gload then singled home one run and Ibanez blasted an 0-1 pitch over the wall in dead center. Werth followed with a double and later came home on a Schneider single for a 6-2 lead.

The Mets got one back in the sixth as Reyes led off with a double and came home when Pagan followed with a single to make it a 6-3 contest.

New York made it a one-run game in the seventh. With no outs and men on second and third, Ruben Tejada grounded out to score a run. Chris Carter then doubled to center to make it a 6-5.

Ryan Madson took over for Halladay in the eighth and set New York down in order.

Brad Lidge came on in the ninth and gave up a leadoff single to Josh Thole. Tejada then grounded out to first to advance the runner and Carter followed with a groundout to first to move Thole to third. Reyes then flied out to center and the embattled closer earned his 14th save of the season.
