02/24/2008 - Columbus, OH (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Jason Bohannon scored 16 points to lead the 11th-ranked Wisconsin Badgers past the Ohio State Buckeyes, 58-53, at Value City Arena.
Michael Flowers chipped in 14 points for the Badgers (23-4, 13-2 Big Ten), who have won four in a row. Marcus Landry had 10 points and nine rebounds.
Jamar Butler totaled 14 points for Ohio State (17-10, 8-6), which has lost two in a row and three of four overall. Kosta Koufos tallied 10 points to match his 10 boards.
With the Buckeyes trailing by three, the team called a timeout with 31.5 ticks left. On the inbounds pass, Ohio State worked the ball around and found Butler open for a three. His shot missed and bounced out of bounds with 16.6 seconds left in play.
The Badgers immediately worked the ball upcourt and hit Landry just past half court, who then dribbled in for a wide open dunk that all but sealed the deal, 58-53, with 12.7 showing on the clock.
The Badgers hit 22 of their 51 field goal attempts, en route to opening a 1/2 game lead in the Big Ten standings.
The Badgers held a 10-9 lead until the Buckeyes scored eight unanswered points to build a seven-point cushion just past the 8 1/2 minute mark. David Lighty scored the first two via a layup, as Matt Terwilliger and Dallas Lauderdale each gave three points on the run.
Wisconsin battled back and cut the deficit to 21-19 on a pair of free throws from Trevon Hughes with 4:24 left before intermission.
The schools would exchange baskets and head to their respective locker rooms knotted at 32.
The second half lead see-sawed and a long three-pointer from Bohannon followed by a bucket from Tim Jarmusz put the Badgers on top 46-43 with just over 11 minutes on the clock. However, Butler would answer with a trey that tied the game at 46.
Moments later, Wisconsin would open a 56-49 lead on eight straight points. Flowers fueled the run with a layup and Landry closed it out with a pair from the charity stripe just prior to the four-minute mark. Bohannon also drained a three-pointer and Brian Butch hit a jumper on the spurt.
An Evan Turner basket and two from the line from Butler pulled Ohio State within 56-53 with around three-minutes left.
Game Notes
Ohio State will play at Indiana on Tuesday. Wisconsin will host Michigan State on Thursday...The Buckeyes hit 8-of-9 from the foul line. The Badgers hit 7- of-10 from the stripe.

Teams that should be in: Michigan State, Indiana
Work left to do: Illinois, Purdue, Michigan, Iowa
Behind the big two, the pecking order might be in a bit of flux. Has Michigan State passed Indiana after handling the Hoosiers in East Lansing? Where is Illinois in that mix? What looked like a four-big league last week could be morphing into five -- and even six is not unthinkable at this point if everything breaks right.
Should be in:
Michigan State [21-8 (8-6), RPI: 20, SOS: 15] The Spartans made it four-for-four on the homestand, a gigantic accomplishment that leaves them in extremely good shape. MSU is only 1-6 on the road and is at Michigan and at Wisconsin to close things out, meaning the date with the Wolverines on Tuesday looms very, very large. Beating Texas early will hold up well, as will the rout of Bradley and the win over BYU, but will 8-8 be enough? It very well could be, as the computer numbers are good, but why chance it?
Indiana [18-9 (8-6), RPI: 24, SOS: 32] Hmm ... good thing the last two are at Northwestern and home to Penn State, because IU might want to get both to feel completely safe after dropping its third in the last four, fading after halftime at Michigan State. Who knew the best nonconference win would be over Southern Illinois, which is a gift that keeps on giving for the Hoosiers. The win over Wisconsin also looks good on the mantel.
Work left to do:
Illinois [21-9 (9-6), RPI: 31, SOS: 25] A good performance at Penn State leaves the Illini in pretty good shape. Can they go to Iowa and take care of business to really look on their way? That's a huge game, as there is a possible cluster of teams that will end at 9-7. Illinois beat Bradley, but has lost to Xavier. A 9-7 mark and a semifinals trip in Chicago could be enough with the computer profile hanging in there, but it would be better not to mess around, clinching at least a tie for third.
Purdue [18-10 (7-7), RPI: 47, SOS: 28] Couldn't get it done at Iowa, but did win at Northwestern to put 9-7 squarely in sight. Where does that leave the Boilermakers, though? Even if they beat Minnesota and Northwestern at home, that won't help the computer numbers. Nonconference wins over Virginia, DePaul and Oklahoma are solid, but not spectacular. The Boilers very well might need an upset in the B10 quarters to have a legit claim.
Michigan [19-10 (7-7), RPI: 55, SOS: 53] Well, Michigan did what it needed to do, winning at Minnesota to take control of its fate. The Wolverines have Michigan State and an already-wrapped-up-the-league Ohio State at home to close, so the chances are there. Win both and we can talk. There is no marquee win yet in the profile, and the Wolverines were splattered in several games against name opponents. A mediocre computer profile fueled by a lack of road wins isn't helping, either.
Iowa [16-12 (8-6), RPI: 80, SOS: 64] For the sake of being complete, we'll add Iowa, this season's Stanford. It's plausible that the Hawkeyes could get to 10-6 (at Penn State, vs. Illinois left), but where does that leave them after a gruesome nonconference performance where the best win was over ... Toledo? Iowa State? Cornell?? If they get to 10-6, we can start to look at what they need to do in the B10 tourney, although my gut sense is that they would need to make the final and have knocked off Ohio State or Wisconsin on the way to have any real claim.

MySportsbook.com favors Bears, Bengals, Chargers and Colts to remain perfect
LAS VEGAS , Sept. 28 - Two big match-ups of undefeated teams have fans salivating at the Week Four schedule in the NFL. The Chicago Bears stifling defense looks to provide a less than hospitable welcome to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night in a battle of two 3-0 teams in the NFC conference. In the AFC, the San Diego Chargers (2-0) head to Maryland to face the surprising Baltimore Ravens (3-0) as both try to keep pace atop the conference standings. Betting Lines makers at MySportsbook.com, online sportsbook and casino, have set the Bears as 3.5 point favorites while the Chargers are a 2.5 point bet.
Of the three remaining undefeated teams, only one, New Orleans, enters this week's game as an underdog. Despite an emotional and resounding win over Atlanta on Monday night, the Saints are a 7.5 point underdog against the struggling Carolina Panthers. Indianapolis looks to stay perfect when they face the New York Jets as a 9 point road favorite while the Cincinnati Bengals are a 6 point favorite at home to the New England Patriots.
Six teams enter the week still looking for their first win, with a seventh, Tampa Bay, on a bye week. The prospect of dropping another game would not bode well for a potential playoff run. Since 1990, just three teams -- the 1992 Chargers, 1995 Detroit Lions and 1998 Buffalo Bills -- have overcome losing their first three games of the season to earn a postseason berth. And only the Chargers managed to accomplish the feat after starting 0-4.
